3 Best Bible Studies for Women this Fall.

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

As a former regional Women's Director, leaders often asked me for Bible Study suggestions, especially this time of the year as ministries ramp up for Fall Session.

Studying God's Word is one of my favorite things to do. From time to time, it's good to add a Bible Study book to further aid in perspective and understanding. I try to do that at least once a year.

I haven't read every Bible Study out there to say these are THE best. But, these are my TOP 3 PICKS for this fall.

I'm constantly on the lookout for new releases that make great suggestions for both individuals and groups. I gather data and feedback from friends and other connections to come to these conclusions. Plus, I order copies to see for myself firsthand.

These 3-NEW studies released this year stood out to me. I purchased each of them, reviewed them, and still deciding which one I will dig into first. Autumn will be here before you know it, and I know you want time to review the materials, prepare, and order copies for the women in your group.

Each study offers individual book options, Bible Study Leader options, and videos.

HINT HINT: # 3 is my favorite! You will see why when you check it out below.

# 1. Elijah: Faith and Fire (7-Session Bible Study)

by Priscilla Shirer

"Those who patiently wait on God in the darkness emerge with their holy loyalty cemented, their courage emblazoned, and their confident belief in Him set afire." Journey through "the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. And how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now."

# 3. GROWING SLOW: Lessons on Un-Hurrying Your Heart from an Accidental Farm Girl (Plus, 6-Week Guided Bible Study Book + access to FREE videos)

by Jennifer Dukes Lee

"You can live the great life you want, but it's not the way you think. It isn't about chasing that life down, it's about SLOWING that life down. Hurry says everything is a task to be attacked. Slow says that you get to decide what's important, and you get to reprioritize life in a way that lines up with what matters most. Enter a simpler way of living. Unhurry your heart by embracing the relaxed rhythms of nature and discover the meaningful gift of growing slow."

Growing Slow charts a path out of the pressures of bigger, harder, faster, and into a more rooted way of living where the growth of good things is deep and lasting.

  • Find the true relief that comes when you stop running and start resting in Jesus

  • Learn practices for unhurrying your heart and mind every day

  • Let go of the pressure and embrace the small, good things already bearing fruit in your life

  • And engage slow growth through reflection prompts and simple application steps

Note: The Bible Study Book does not include video sessions. Jennifer has a number of FREE RESOURCES FOR LEADERS including FREE VIDEOS for each session. Ask me about them!

Dig deep into Scripture to reveal how land is a picture of our slow growth into claiming the promises of God. The land is more than a backdrop for the Bible. It is a central part of the magnificent narrative, from the very beginning when Creator God used dirt to make life on a farm called Eden. Jennifer weaves biblical lessons into her own experience of the importance of land, gleaned from her fifth-generation farm. The land--both then and now--teaches us how to un-hurry our hurry-sick hearts.

This 6-Week Bible Study Helps You:

  • Gain the courage to slow down + enjoy life

  • Find value in the good things you are already growing.

  • Lay down burdens you've been carrying and receive healing.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jennifer Dukes Lee is altogether charming, funny, down-to-earth, and a joy to connect with. I have the honor of journeying with Jennifer and friends as part of her launch team for this book. Jennifer is a fellow Hope*Writer and well-known author. She lives on the fifth-generation Lee family farm in Iowa, where she and her husband are raising crops, pigs, and two beautiful humans. Once upon a time, she didn’t believe in Jesus; now he’s her CEO.
